Updating ANSYS 2023R2 License Server Information for Linux Client using the command line
If you are updating ANSYS License Server Information for ANSYS Client using only the command line, do the following
# vim usr/local/ansys_inc/shared_files/licensing/ansyslmd.ini
SERVER=1055@IP_Address_Of_ANSYS_LIC_SVR
ANSYSLI_SERVERS=2325@IP_Address_Of_ANSYS_LIC_SVR
Make sure the 1055, 1056, 2325 Ports of the License Server are opened.
Licensing Errors for ANSYS IcePak Solver
If you are encountering issues like the one below.
"If you have this error "Failed to enable features using current license settings. Note that Pro, Premium, Enterprise licenses are available on your server. To use these licenses check the corresponding option. For more information, search "PPE" in the help documentation. Failover feature "ANSYS IcePak Solver" is not available. Request name aice_solv does not exist in the....."
Running ANSYS Workbench with Mesa OpenGL
If you are using mesa so that you can use MESA open-source software implementation of OpenGL on ANSYS Workbench, you may want to use the following command
% export LIBGL_ALWAYS_INDIRECT=1
% export LIBGL_ALWAYS_SOFTWARE=1
% runwb2 -oglmesa
Fixing can’t load screen14 issues for ANSYS 2020-R1
I was having this strange issue when running ANSYS ICEM
"Fixing can't load screen14 issues, using variable Signal 11 caught! Segmentation violation - exiting after doing an emergency save"
The Issue can easily resolved. It is due to errors due to missing fonts libraries
